Samuel, I think you totally missed the point of Rhea's article. Perhaps if you weren't so quick to jump to defend a group of people who quite clearly aren't "being themselves" (unless by some magical coincidence they all look entirely the same), then you would have been able to see the point behind the article - that is, in fact, "be yourself", as opposed to following the ironically-titled "unique" brand and look down on those that don't. However, having seen the vicious and pointless attacks on Rhea in varying places over Facebook (extremely brave), I did expect some shallow response to her article. And here it is.

You’re correct, since the early 1990s UK train fares on average have increases faster then inflation as reported by RPI, but does this tell the whole story, as the recent news headline make out?

Over the last 25 years, UK train fares have generally increased inline with UK average salary growth. This is very different to the trend with RPI were train fares increases much faster. So on average train fares are approximately as expensive/cheap, relative to average wages, as they were in the late 1980s

I think that the occupiers have no understanding of the economics of their demands.

Privatization is actually the way forward for cheaper university tuition. If the government didn't guarantee student loans, then universities could not charge 9,000 plus pounds per year, and would be forced to compete for students by having lower tuition fees.

Thanks for wasting the universities time and other students money though. I give you guys another ten days.

I think you've missed the point that it's meant to go against the grain of 'This one time, on my gap yaaaaahh'.

And if you're asking about what's necessary then I'd like to ask about how necessary leaving a spiteful comment on somebody's article is?

Chill out.
