A female cyclist found injured near Royal Holloway’s sports grounds last Thursday remains in St Peters Hospital after sustaining injuries to the head. Surrey Police are currently investigating how the woman obtained her injuries and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

The woman in her forties was found lying in the road on Prune Hill near the level crossing at around 05:45 on the 3rd of November. An ambulance soon arrived at the scene and took her to St Peters Hospital in Chertsey where she currently remains in a stable condition.

Whilst the cyclist was treated for her injuries, Prune Hill was closed in both directions between Bakeham Lane and Whitehall Lane until 09:30, causing a great deal of congestion within the local area, after which it was reopened and traffic resumed to normal.

Surrey Police are hoping to speak to any members of the public that have any further information or any witnesses of the incident, and urge them be in contact as soon as possible in order to shed light on the manner in which the woman managed to sustain her injuries.

If you saw the incident in question or have any further information which could be of use, please contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference P11325397, or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
